Matthias Bonjour is Swiss, brought up in England and currently living in Tacoma, WA. Married, with 3 kids and a mortgage, he balances husbandry, fatherhood, a job at Apple, and 3 vintage road bikes. He loves Italian road bikes, Japanese track bikes and is enthralled by the aesthetics of the bike, the object of the bike as much, if not more so then riding itself.
Growing up in England his initial interest was in Mountain Biking, but did not develop. In 2006, he and his wife, Tracie walking into a coffee shop spotted a bike he had never seen before. It was a stripped road frame with all the components pulled off of it, running a single gear, with a flat-bar and disc-brakes on the front-wheel only. To say that it appealed to him was an understatement. His first reaction was: “I have to have that!” He started with a couple of Fuji’s and things grew from there.
